WELCOME TO THE
MISSISSIPPI HIPPIES LUV PAD. - It was their desire to make
a great record that gave The Mississippi Hippies their
origin. Guitarist/ songwriter Gordie Leggat, along with
his brother, bassist/songwriter/producer
Hugh Leggat and
singer/songwriter John Dickie came together and decided
to write and record an album of songs that would have the
timeless quality of the Blues and Rock n' Roll masters they
admired and influenced by. Names like Howlin' Wolf, Little Richard, Sonny Boy Williamson, Muddy
Waters and James Brown, came to their minds. Then they would
have to marry these ideas into today's universal experience for all
mankind. 'How can this be done?' the Hippies personal yogi asked.
sTeP1: the songs had to be
written, and honed to a point of Blues nirvana, worthy of being
timeless quality. |

sTeP2: The
Hippies had to be recorded, projecting the same concept, (using
transcendental meditation), onto the process in the studio. Vintage instruments,
amps, microphones of the 50/60's would be mandatory, as well as
recording techniques developed by legendary Chess n' Sun
studios.
sTeP3:The
Hippies began layin' down Blues-powered track, after track, while
exacting house rockin' performances that roll n' tumble all nite long. Together in peace, harmony and understanding, they captured 10 hot
cuts that have the fire n' soul of the masters. Not for the faint of
heart, and please don't try this at home or the commune my
brothers.
sTeP4: Mixed to
rockalatin' perfection by the Brothers Leggat (Gordie n'
Hugh), then atomically engineered to a nuclear Blues melt-down by Tom Atom.
The result makes for a 'one of a
kind Blues Luv-in' peoples. |
