Name: Gordie Leggat Astrological Sign: Capricorn
Instrument: Guitar namely a '56 Tele, my lil' black
mambo snake.
Past musical Tribes: a crazy guitar twangin' 4
piece contingent called Private Eye and another
honorable mention, such a great band, Mondo Combo...ouch! Hallmark musical moment:
whoa...I got so many...ahhhh 1979, New Years Eve, Maple Leaf
Gardens in Toronto opening for Kim Mitchell's Max Webster. The light tech guy
guzzled our encore by turning the house lights on too soon, we
couldn't get back to the stage in time. Also one of the greatest
times I've ever had was sharing the stage with none other than the
great Albert Collins, wow we played our schnuts off for a
good hour. That was with Mondo Combo...Dickie singing 'Sex
Machine' and Albert layin' down funkiest open tuned rhythm guitar
parts, Al Lehrman's poor Super Reverb. Albert just
destroyed it, and me too! Forever!! |

First Became A
Hippie: I suppose it was after seeing Jimi Hendrix,
his first Toronto concert at The C.N.E. Coliseum i believe it was
Nov. 1967,or it could have been the Cream gig at Massey Hall
ummm...I think it was May or early June of 68'...or it was The
Jeff Beck Group with Rod Stewart...somewhere around Oct
1968, it's all a blur man.
Favorite Organic sound: Ahhhhhh...the glug, glug, glug
of Labatts 50! Future
Hippie Plans: Remember what John Lennon said 'Life
is what happens while you're busy making plans'. I'm afraid Im not
one for a lot of statagy, just take care of my family, my
friends...(man I won't have any after they read this!) get the
band out there playing , maybe sell a few records and start work on
our new one. Peace, LOve And 50! |
